Pilates is a type of exercise developed
by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900s. He believed that mental and physical
health are interdependent, and therefore designed a set of exercises based
mainly on strengthening the core as well as the whole body using mind power.
Concentration and specific breathing
techniques are key components of Pilates, and along with the workout allow
the gain of strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and relaxation.

does not over-develop some parts of the body and neglect others.

posture, and to maintain good balance. When the core is strong, the frame of
