PILATES

 

 

Pilates is a type of exercise developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 1900s. He believed that mental and physical health are interdependent, and therefore designed a set of exercises based mainly on strengthening the core as well as the whole body using mind power.

Concentration and specific breathing techniques are key components of Pilates, and along with the workout allow the gain of strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and relaxation.
 

Pilates Benefits:

2. Pilates is Whole-Body Fitness. Unlike some forms of exercise, Pilates does not over-develop some parts of the body and neglect others.

4. Focuses on the deep and small muscles of the whole body. Strengthening these muscles will help to prevent future injuries.

Through practicing you will know how to listen to your body and understand your strengths and weaknesses. "The complete coordination of body, mind, and spirit."

8. Develops Core Strength (Back, abdomen, and pelvic floor muscles)
These are the muscles we rely on to support a strong, supple back, good posture, and to maintain good balance. When the core is strong, the frame of the body is supported. This means the neck and shoulders can relax, and the rest of the muscles and joints are freed to do their jobs.

9. Promotes the Flat abs that we all covet. Weight Loss and Long, Lean Appearance.


BONUS: The session  also includes for the first time in Lebanon: Magical Passes: "Magical Passes"/Tensegrity exercise, is the name given to the modern version of the Magical Passes and the fluid and energetically efficient way of being—the path with heart—that don Juan Matus taught his students: Carlos Castaneda.
Magical passes is a vital tool: positions and movements of body and breath. Practicing this allows the practitioner a simple and accessible means to boost his or her well-being by redirecting and restoring the flow of his or her natural energy—bringing the ability to be present to experience, rather than caught in thoughts and emotions—and a breath pattern—of the past.

Sessions are given by Nazih Wehbe, certified Pilates instructor.


Dates:
Mondays and Wednesdays at at 6:15- 7:30pm - group sessions.

Bring towel, and tennis ball if available.
The class is suitable for all levels.
 

Price: L.L. 50,000 including 4 consecutive sessions. 15,000LL (1 session), $60 (8 sessions).
